Cheryl Stern is an American actress whose Broadway career spans from 1980 to 2023. She is a graduate of Northwestern University.
Stern's stage work includes several notable Broadway productions, among them La Cage aux Folles, Jackie Mason's Laughing Room Only, The Old Women, Funny Girl, and Evita. Her involvement with Jackie Mason extended to serving as a backup performer for the comedian before appearing in his comedy musical Laughing Room Only. She also appeared opposite Cynthia Nixon in The Women, and was part of the 2010 Tony Award-winning revival of La Cage aux Folles.
Beyond Broadway, Stern took on the role of The Old Lady in Mary Zimmerman's production of Candide at the Huntington Theatre in Boston. In 2009, she starred in the Transport Group's Being Audrey.
In 2002, Stern received a Jonathan Larson Grant for Normal, a project developed with Tom Kochan and Yvonne Adrian at the Lark Theatre Company.
