Charles Lafayette King was an American character actor born in New York, New York. Over the course of his career, he accumulated credits across both stage and screen, appearing in more than 400 films between 1915 and 1956.
King maintained an active presence on Broadway spanning more than three decades, from 1908 to 1940. His stage work included a range of productions, among them Keep Kool and The Mimic World, both from 1908. He also took part in the musical Sea Legs, the revue The New Yorkers, and the production The Fabulous Invalid, along with additional Broadway appearances throughout his career.
