About
Charles M. Cioffi, born October 31, 1935, in New York City, is an American actor of Italian heritage whose career spans film, television, and stage. He attended Michigan State University, where he joined the Sigma Chi fraternity. His Broadway appearances span from 1968 to 1993 and include productions such as Hamlet, Brighton Beach Memoirs, Stand-Up Tragedy, Chinese Coffee, and The Sisters Rosensweig.
On screen, Cioffi built a substantial body of work in film during the early 1970s. In 1971 alone he appeared in two notable features: as Lt. Vic Androzzi in Shaft and as Peter Cable in Klute. Beyond live-action performance, Cioffi provided the voices of Chairman Prescott and Adam Fenix in the Xbox 360 video game Gears of War 2. He has since retired from performing.
