Chad Kimball

Chad Kimball is an American stage actor born on September 2, 1976, in Seattle, Washington. He earned a BFA in musical theatre from Boston Conservatory in 1999, the same year he began his Broadway career and performed regionally as Anthony in Sweeney Todd at the Signature Theatre.

After relocating to New York City, Kimball built a career across Broadway and regional stages. His regional credits include Baby at the Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn, New Jersey in 2004, and Little Fish at the Blank Theatre in Los Angeles in 2007. On Broadway, his credits span productions including Lennon, Good Vibrations, and a 2002 revival of Into the Woods, in which he played Milky White.

Kimball originated the role of Huey Calhoun in Memphis at the La Jolla Playhouse in 2008 before bringing the character to Broadway, where he remained with the production through fall 2011. The performance earned him a Tony Award nomination for Best Actor in a Musical in 2010, as well as a Drama Desk Award nomination for Outstanding Actor in a Musical that same year. He also appears in the filmed recording Memphis: Direct from Broadway, produced by Broadway Worldwide.

In 2017, Kimball returned to Broadway in Come from Away, playing Kevin T. In March 2020, he contracted and subsequently recovered from COVID-19. Later that year, he publicly criticized COVID-related public health restrictions on singing in churches via Twitter, drawing significant backlash. When Come from Away resumed production in 2021, Kimball was not invited to rejoin the cast. He filed a lawsuit against the show's producers alleging religious discrimination.
