Smith made her Broadway debut in 2013 in Romeo + Juliet, a production directed by David Leveaux and starring Orlando Bloom and Condola Rashad. Her stage work extends beyond Broadway to include "Soldier X" at the Ma-Yi Theatre Company, "Hit The Wall" at the Barrow Street Theatre, a workshop production of "Serial. Black. Face." at the Signature Theatre Company, and "Rich Girl" at the Old Globe Theatre in San Diego.
On television, Smith portrayed Willa Penton across the first two seasons of the Netflix political drama House of Cards.
