Caroline Innerbichler

Caroline Innerbichler is an American stage actress whose Broadway credits include Shucked and Frozen. She was born in Southern California and raised in Eagan, Minnesota, alongside her sister Allison. Her parents regularly brought the two children to theater productions, and Innerbichler made her first stage appearance at age 10 in a community theater production of Annie at Eagan High School. She subsequently pursued voice and acting training.

At 12, Innerbichler landed her first professional theater role, playing Annika in Pippi Longstocking at Children's Theatre Company in Minneapolis in 2001. She continued working professionally through her high school years. Following graduation from Eagan High School, she enrolled in the BFA Guthrie Actor Training program at the University of Minnesota, leaving after her first year to work as a professional in the Twin Cities and other regional theaters. In 2008, at age 21, she joined the touring production of Little House on the Prairie as an ensemble member and understudy for the role of Nellie Oleson. Her first lead role came in 2014, when she played Ariel in Chanhassen Dinner Theatres' production of The Little Mermaid.

Innerbichler later relocated to the West Coast to pursue work in Santa Barbara. A visit to friends in Chicago led to an audition for the Broadway production of Frozen. Though she did not secure that role, she was subsequently invited to audition for the North American tour and was cast as Anna. The tour launched in late 2019 before being suspended in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It resumed in September 2021, and Innerbichler remained with the production through March 2022.

During the Frozen hiatus, Innerbichler became involved with the developing musical Shucked. She made her Broadway debut in the show in April 2023, originating the role of Maizy. Her final performance as Maizy took place on September 3, 2023, at which time she announced her pregnancy. Isabelle McCalla, a Broadway veteran of The Prom, Aladdin, and Hercules, assumed the role beginning September 8, 2023. For her work in Shucked, Innerbichler received a Theatre World Award in 2023. She resides in New York City with her partner Sean and their dog, Finna, and plays ukulele.
