Born November 1, 1925, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Carmen Capalbo grew up performing in community theater and assistant directing. He served in the Army during World War II, earning both a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart, and briefly attended Yale School of Drama. In 1950, he married ballet dancer Patricia McBride; they had two children, Marco and Carla. His television credits include "Play of the Week." An avid philatelist, Capalbo specialized in stamps issued by Great Britain during World War I and held membership in the Royal Philatelic Society.
