About

Carla Bianco is an American actor, singer-songwriter, and pianist of Italian descent. She began writing songs on the piano at age ten, a practice rooted in a childhood spent singing at family gatherings.

Bianco's recording career took shape in 1990 when she collaborated with Jellybean Benitez of Jellybean Productions, known for his work with Madonna. That partnership resulted in her first song, "Not This Time," released on Atlantic Records. She also wrote alongside Narada Michael Walden, Judd Friedman, and Reggie Lucas. In 1996, a song she wrote, "The Lover That You Are," was recorded by Pulse and reached number one on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart. The track also charted in the United Kingdom, peaking at number 22 on the UK Singles Chart in May of that year. Bianco received an ASCAP award in 1996 in recognition of the song. She released her debut CD, All This Time, in 2012.

On stage, Bianco portrayed Maureen in Rent, appearing in both the Broadway production and the Los Angeles production. Her Broadway run with the show spanned 1996 to 1997.

Her screen work includes the 2010 film Unstoppable, starring Denzel Washington, in which she played a horse trailer owner, and the 2012 film Promised Land, starring Matt Damon, in which she appeared as Profesora. She also appeared in the 2011 film Scream Show 2 as Janet Weaver.
