About

Cara Ricketts is a Canadian actress and Broadway performer, born and raised in Toronto, Ontario. She trained at Humber College's theatre program, the Canadian Film Centre's Actors Conservatory, and the Stratford Festival's Birmingham Conservatory.

Ricketts established herself first as a stage actress, with early credits including 2005 productions of Joseph Jomo Pierre's Born Ready and Stephen Adly Guirgis's The Last Days of Judas Iscariot. Her subsequent stage work encompassed a wide range of classical and contemporary roles, among them Titania in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Beneatha in A Raisin in the Sun, Ruth in Harold Pinter's The Homecoming, and Hedda in Henrik Ibsen's Hedda Gabler. She also played Portia in the Stratford Festival production of Julius Caesar and Queenie in The Wild Party, the latter earning her a 2016 Dora Mavor Moore Award nomination for Best Leading Actress in Musical Theatre.

Ricketts made her Broadway debut in 2017, appearing in Time and the Conways, followed by Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, which ran through 2018. Her screen career includes film appearances in Across the Line, Jean of the Joneses, and Stanleyville.
