About

Candy Moore, born Candace Lee Klaasen on August 26, 1947, is an American actress who grew up in Maplewood, New Jersey. She pursued formal training at the UCLA School of Theatre Arts before building a career across stage, television, and film.

Moore made her Broadway appearance in 1958 in the play J.B., establishing her professional stage credentials at a young age. Her work in theater ran alongside an active television career that took shape in the late 1950s and early 1960s. In 1959 and 1960, she appeared in two episodes of One Step Beyond during its second season, portraying Carolyn Peters in the episode "Forked Lightning" and Callie Wylie in "Goodbye Grandpa." During 1961, she took on roles in several series, including a part in the Leave It to Beaver episode "Mother's Helper," in which she played Margie Manners, as well as single appearances on The Loretta Young Show and Wagon Train. That same year she also appeared in the first season of My Three Sons in the episode "Fire Watch." Between 1961 and 1962, she portrayed Gillian Favor in two episodes of Rawhide.

Moore's most prominent television role came in 1962 when she was cast as Chris Carmichael, the daughter of Lucille Ball's character, on The Lucy Show. She remained a series regular through the end of the 1964–1965 season, departing when the show was retooled and much of its supporting cast was written out. She also appeared nine times on The Donna Reed Show, five of those appearances as Angie Quinn, the girlfriend of series character Jeff Stone, played by Paul Petersen. In September 1962, Moore starred in a CBS television pilot called Time Out for Ginger, though the pilot did not result in a series.

Her film work includes appearances in Raging Bull, The Night of the Grizzly, Tomboy and the Champ, and Lunch Wagon.
