About

Candyce Anne Rose Milo, born January 9, 1961, in Palm Springs, California, is an American actress, comedian, singer, and writer. Her family relocated to San Jose shortly after her birth, where she attended Presentation High School, an all-girls institution. Her father, Tony "Nino" Migliaccio, was a child actor who adopted the surname Milo when he transitioned to adult roles. Milo made her first stage appearance alongside her father at Turk Murphy's in 1964, the two performing Me and My Shadow together. By age eleven she was participating in children's musical theater, and in 1977 she began singing in theme park attractions, most notably at Disneyland in Anaheim. Her father founded a group home for the developmentally disabled in 1969.

Milo's early professional work extended across television and film, with appearances on series including Gimme a Break!, Knots Landing, and Perfect Strangers. She was also a member of The Mighty Carson Art Players on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. In 1983, she appeared on Broadway in Dreamgirls, marking her credit in one of that era's landmark musical productions.

Her entry into voice acting came about accidentally through her stage singing work. Signed by The William Morris Agency for voice work, Milo initially found the transition disappointing, as her primary ambition had been a singing career. Her first voice role was Sweetie Pie in Tiny Toon Adventures in 1990, a job she secured after a 1988 audition in which she read The Three Little Pigs with an unconventional interpretation. She subsequently voiced characters in the 1992 animated feature Cool World, including Lonette and Bob.

Throughout the 1990s, Milo accumulated a wide range of animation credits. She voiced Pakka in Cro, Ann Gora in SWAT Kats: The Radical Squadron, Little Red Riding Hood in 2 Stupid Dogs, and the unseen Mom and Teacher characters in Cow and Chicken. In 2001, she replaced Christine Cavanaugh as the voice of Dexter in Dexter's Laboratory, following Cavanaugh's retirement from voice acting, and continued in the role through the end of the series. She also voiced the title character in the U.S. version of the 2003 Astro Boy series and The Flea on ¡Mucha Lucha!

From 2002 to 2006, Milo voiced Snap in ChalkZone and Dr. Nora Wakeman in My Life as a Teenage Robot. Her performance as Dr. Wakeman earned her Annie Award nominations in both 2004 and 2005. During the same period she voiced Ophelia Ramírez in The Life and Times of Juniper Lee, the title character Maya Santos in Maya & Miguel, Irma Lair in W.I.T.C.H., Zadavia in Loonatics Unleashed, and the characters Coco, Madame Foster, and Cheese in Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends.

Milo returned to the stage in October 2015, playing Grandmama Addams in the 3-D Theatricals production of The Addams Family. In February 2020, she appeared again with 3-D Theatricals in Kinky Boots, taking on the role of Trish. In 2019, she directed Suicidal Blonde, a film starring Kimmy Robertson. Since 2017, she has voiced the Looney Tunes characters Granny and Witch Hazel, and beginning in 2022 she has also voiced Petunia Pig.

Milo is divorced and has one daughter, Gabriella, who is also an actress. She has described herself as being of partial Latin American descent.
