About
Camilla Scott is a Canadian actress and television host born on July 12, 1961, in Toronto, Ontario. She later took the surname Eves following her 2002 marriage to actor Paul Eves; the couple have a son born in 2005.
Scott's early stage work included the lead role in Evita at the Limelight Dinner Theatre, a production she secured before the age of 25. Her agent's insistence that her name appear above the title in all advertising brought her early visibility as a performer. She went on to appear on Broadway in 1989 in Shenandoah. Her theatre work also extended to several Toronto musical productions, including the role of Polly Baker in the 1994 Toronto staging of Crazy for You, directed by Mike Ockrent and featuring the music of George and Ira Gershwin, at the Royal Alexandra Theatre. She later took over the lead role in the Toronto production of Mamma Mia! following Louise Pitre's departure on tour, remaining in the role for three years. In October 2008, Scott was cast as Khashoggi in the Dora Award–winning Toronto production of We Will Rock You, a role that had previously always been performed by a man; she stayed with the production until it closed on June 28, 2009.
On television, Scott joined the cast of the soap opera Days of Our Lives in 1990, portraying Melissa Anderson, a role she held for two years. The casting director had sought a young actress with singing ability, and Scott's audition — during which she spontaneously sang Whitney Houston's "Greatest Love of All" — led to her being hired and beginning filming the following day. From 1995 through 1999, she played Inspector Margaret "Meg" Thatcher of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in the television series Due South. Concurrently, from 1996 to 1998, she hosted The Camilla Scott Show, a daytime talk show that aired on the Baton Broadcast System and later the CTV television network. In 2002, she provided the voice of Mama Bear in a television adaptation of the Berenstain Bears.
Scott's film appearances include Three Men and a Baby (1987), Tommy Boy (1995), and The Art of the Steal (2013). In later years, she transitioned away from performing and joined Arbonne, a multi-level marketing company, rising to the position of Executive National Vice President as of 2020.
