Brinsley Shaw was an American actor born on March 18, 1876, who worked across stage, film, and directing throughout his career. He died on July 3, 1931.

Shaw maintained an active presence on Broadway spanning three decades, from 1900 to 1930. His stage credits included the plays Mr. Samuel, Sherlock Holmes, The Dollar Mark, Military Mad, and Cashel Byron.

Alongside his theatrical work, Shaw built a substantial career in silent film. Between 1910 and 1927, he appeared in more than 150 films. His work in this medium is documented in George A. Katchmer's A Biographical Dictionary of Silent Film Western Actors and Actresses, published by McFarland in 2009.
