About
Boyd Irwin (March 12, 1880 – January 22, 1957) was an English actor who worked in both stage and film throughout a career spanning several decades. Born in Brighton, Sussex, he later settled in the United States, where he died in Los Angeles, California.
Irwin accumulated an extensive body of film work, appearing in more than 130 productions between 1915 and 1948 across both the silent era and the sound period. Among his early screen appearances was a starring role in the Australian film For Australia in 1915.
His Broadway career took place during the 1933–1934 season, during which he appeared in three productions. These included the plays A Hat, a Coat, a Glove, Yoshe Kalb, and Under Glass.
