About
Blake Anthony DeLong is an American actor working across film, television, and stage. Born in Dallas, Texas in 1980, he began performing in plays as a student at Lake Highlands High School. He later pursued graduate study at the University of Texas at Austin, where he completed a master's thesis titled "Piece in progress": writing, producing and performing a new play, "All of a piece." It was during this period that he met director Matt Muir, who would cast him in his earliest film work.
After relocating to New York City, DeLong built his career through regional theater and commercial work before transitioning to Off-Broadway productions and higher-profile film and television projects. Among his stage credits, he originated the roles of Andrey and Old Bolkonsky in the musical Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812. Additional stage work includes Othello at New York Theatre Workshop and a portrayal of David Amram in Illyria at The Public Theater. In 2022, he appeared on Broadway in the sixth revival of Death of a Salesman, opposite Wendell Pierce.
DeLong's film career includes the lead role opposite James Hand in Matt Muir's Thank You a Lot, which premiered on the opening night of the SXSW Film Festival in 2014. He went on to appear in supporting roles in Spike Lee's 2018 film Pass Over, as well as Sister Aimee and Late Night, both of which screened at the Sundance Film Festival in 2019. In 2020, he portrayed axe murderer William Kemmler in Michael Almereyda's Tesla, which also premiered at Sundance.
