About
Blaire Restaneo is an American actress, singer, and songwriter born on April 14, 1994, in Pennsylvania. She is the younger sister of Jewel Restaneo, and the two have worked together extensively as a performing and creative duo throughout their careers.
Restaneo began her professional career in entertainment alongside her sister after Jewel was signed to a New York talent agency. The two sisters recorded and released more than six CDs and cassettes that were sold in stores including Sam Goody and National Record Mart, with proceeds donated to Pittsburgh Children's Hospital. In 2000, both sisters were cast in Martin Charnin's national tour of the musical Annie, with Restaneo performing the role of Molly. Following the six-month tour, Restaneo and her sister were cast in the Broadway production of Annie Get Your Gun, which ran from October 11, 2000, to September 1, 2001. During their time in New York while performing in Annie Get Your Gun, the sisters made guest appearances on television programs including Saturday Night Live and All My Children, and participated in ABC's Challenge America TV Special alongside other Broadway performers.
After the Broadway run concluded, Restaneo starred in a short film titled Confection, directed by Eva Saks, for which she received the Best Young Actress Award at the Dublin Film Festival. In 2001, Restaneo and her sister collaborated with fashion designer Ace Ross to develop a children's clothing line called Apparel 4 Stars, after serving as cover models for his designs in Spree Magazine. The line was sold briefly in 2002 at stores in Hollywood, including Fred Segal Kids, and the sisters were interviewed in Children's Business Magazine in connection with the launch.
In 2003, Restaneo relocated with her sister from New York to Los Angeles to focus on their music careers. The two appeared in television series including Cold Case and Duck Dodgers and enrolled with Laurel Springs School in 2005 to accommodate their production schedules. In the summer of 2006, Restaneo was cast alongside her sister in the feature film The Legend of Sasquatch, starring William Hurt and John Rhys-Davies, playing the role of Maggie. In December of that year, the sisters performed at the film's screening at the Viacom Paramount Christmas Party and also presented awards at the International Family Film Festival in Hollywood. In early 2007, Restaneo was cast as Therru in the English-language version of Goro Miyazaki's Gedo Senki: Tales from Earthsea, released in the United Kingdom in the summer of 2007.
In 2011, Restaneo and her sister began writing and performing together as the electro-pop-rock band Pixikill. They worked with Jonas Brothers producer PJ Bianco on an EP titled The Luring, which debuted during an AOL listening party and received coverage in teen publications including J-14 and Twist. In 2013, Pixikill released the single Scream, produced by The Humble Brothers, accompanied by a self-directed music video. That same year, Restaneo and her sister began directing and editing music videos for other artists, including two videos for Boyz II Men, Underwater and Already Gone, released in 2014.
In 2016, Restaneo and her sister launched a new musical project called MUJYBELA, releasing two songs produced by EDM producer Demitri Medina. Beginning in 2018, the duo wrote and produced their own material independently, releasing the singles Boston, FGTW, and Christmas Time that year. On April 14, 2020, MUJYBELA released the single Hide Me.
