About

Bill Randolph is an American actor born on October 11, 1953, in Detroit, Michigan. He attended Lincoln High School, where he participated in school plays, before going on to study at Allan Hancock College's PCCA theater training program. He later earned a bachelor's degree in fine arts from SUNY Purchase.

Randolph's professional career took shape in New York City in the summer of 1977, when he appeared in St. Joan of the Microphone, a social protest disco musical written by Lanny Meyer and Arthur Morey. The production starred Mercedes Hall, mother of Anthony Michael Hall, and was performed in New York City parks and festivals, including the Lincoln Center Outdoor Festival. Randolph originated the role of Supersonic Phil Harmonic, described as the club heart-throb. That same year, he made his Broadway debut in Gemini, the long-running play in which he appeared for two years.

His film career began with the 1980 horror film Dressed to Kill. He became particularly recognized for his portrayal of Jeffrey in Friday the 13th Part 2 in 1981. Subsequent film appearances included Penn & Teller Get Killed in 1989 and Guilty as Charged in 1991.

On television, Randolph made guest appearances on Hill Street Blues and the soap opera As the World Turns. He also held a starring role in the short-lived 1984 series Comedy Zone and appeared in the series Trauma Center.

Randolph retired from acting in the early 1990s and transitioned to a career as a graphic designer, eventually working for the New York Daily News.
