About

Betty Lynne (1911–2011) was a British actress whose career spanned both stage and film. She trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, having previously been educated at Godwin Girls College in England and a convent in France.

Lynne appeared on Broadway between 1932 and 1935, with credits including The Animal Kingdom and Escape Me Never. Her film work became prominent during the late 1930s, when she took female lead roles in a series of quota quickies, several of which were produced by Warner Bros. at Teddington Studios.

Among her screen appearances from that period are Take It from Me, Saturday Night Revue, French Leave, Patricia Gets Her Man, and It's Not Cricket, all from 1937, followed by Mr. Satan, The Viper, Wanted by Scotland Yard, and Glamour Girl in 1938. In 1939 she co-starred with Robert Newton in the thriller Dead Men are Dangerous.
