She was the daughter of Charles Emlyn Morris (1915–1983) and Gwendoline Lillias (John) Morris (1915–2011). Her acting career extended from 1969 to 2004 and encompassed stage, film, and television work on both sides of the Atlantic.
Morris is perhaps most widely remembered for her portrayal of Julia Drusilla in the BBC's 1976 television adaptation of I, Claudius. Her television work was extensive and included appearances on Softly, Softly, Dixon of Dock Green, I'll Fly You for a Quid, David Copperfield, Thriller, Blake's 7, Armchair Thriller, Minder, The District Nurse, and Time Trumpet. On stage, Morris appeared on Broadway in 1975 in Travesties. She also took on stage work in London, including a role in Bertolt Brecht's Edward II at the Round House Theatre.
In 1974, Morris married actor Stephen Moore in the Borough of Lewisham, London. The couple divorced in 1986, after which she was a partner of actor Bill Nighy. She lived in Y Garn, Penllergaer, and was found dead in her home on 1 March 2018, St David's Day, at the age of 74.
