Benjamin Chapin (August 9, 1872 – June 2, 1918) was an American stage actor and playwright born in Bristolville, Ohio. He became widely recognized as an impersonator of Abraham Lincoln, a figure with whom he had maintained a deep preoccupation since childhood.

Chapin built an extensive career performing as Lincoln on the Lyceum circuit and in vaudeville before bringing the subject to Broadway. In 1906, he wrote a play titled Lincoln and saw it staged at the Liberty Theatre, where it followed a production of Thomas Dixon Jr.'s The Clansman. His Broadway activity continued through 1909, with Lincoln remaining his central credit during that period.

In 1917, Chapin extended his engagement with the Lincoln material into film, writing and starring in The Lincoln Cycle, a series of motion pictures. The project achieved success, though his health had been deteriorating. He died on June 2, 1918, from tuberculosis, at the age of forty-five.
