Becca Blackwell is an American trans actor, performer, and playwright born in 1973 or 1974 and based in New York City. Blackwell made their Broadway debut in 2021 in Is This a Room.
As a playwright, Blackwell authored They, Themself and Schmerm, which received presentations at multiple venues, among them The Public Theater's Under the Radar Festival in 2018, the Abrons Arts Center, and the Portland Institute for Contemporary Art's TBA Festival.
Blackwell's work as a performer drew recognition from musician Kathleen Hanna, who named Blackwell among their favorite performers of 2014 in a piece written for Artforum. The following year, Blackwell received a 2015 Doris Duke Impact Award. In 2016, Blackwell was the subject of an interview conducted by Jim Fletcher for BOMB magazine. Blackwell was also selected as part of the 2019 class of the Joe's Pub Working Group, a program that supports artists at a critical stage in their careers.
