Barbara Robertson

Barbara Robertson is an American actress and singer whose stage career has spanned Broadway, regional theater, and major Chicago productions. A 1972 graduate of Glenbard West High School in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, she went on to build an extensive body of work across theater, film, and television.

Robertson's Broadway career ran from 1994 to 2005 and included credits in Wicked and Angels in America: Millennium Approaches. Her stage work extends well beyond Broadway, encompassing productions of Hamlet, A Little Night Music, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, Mary Stuart, La Bete, Grand Hotel, The Goat or Who Is Sylvia?, Garden, Pal Joey, Black Snow, Kabuki Medea, and Emma's Child, as well as Angels in America: Part I & II.

Among her most prominent regional credits is the role of Madame Morrible in the Chicago production of Wicked. She first took on the role from May 8, 2007, through June 25, 2008, and returned to close out the production from November 18, 2008, through its final performance on January 25, 2009. She also performed the role during a limited engagement of the touring production at its Chicago stop, which ran from December 1, 2010, through January 23, 2011. Additionally, Robertson played the title role of Mame at the Drury Lane Theatre and portrayed Jan the Unnamed in the American Theatre Company's pre-Broadway Chicago production of Yeast Nation.

Her screen credits include the films The Company, The Straight Story, Will of Their Own, Disney's Mother's Courage, and Paramount's The Untouchables, as well as the television series Early Edition.
