Aubrey Fitzgerald (1874–1968) was a British actor whose career spanned stage and screen across several decades. Born in 1874, Fitzgerald lived to the age of 94, with a professional life that took him from Broadway to London's West End and eventually into the British film industry.
Fitzgerald made his Broadway appearance in 1905, performing in Veronique. His stage work continued in London, where in 1909 he took on the role of El Tabloid in A Persian Princess at the Queen's Theatre.
Film became a significant part of Fitzgerald's later career. Beginning in the silent era, he appeared in One Arabian Night, Little Miss Nobody, and Hutch Stirs 'em Up, all in 1923, followed by The Last Witness in 1925. His screen work continued through the transition to sound, with credits including Nell Gwyn (1926), The King's Highway (1927), The Glad Eye (1927), and Widecombe Fair (1928). Into the 1930s, Fitzgerald remained active, appearing in Harmony Heaven (1930), The Great Gay Road (1931), Goodnight Vienna (1932), Discord (1933), and The Little Damozel (1933). His film appearances in the mid-1930s included Peg of Old Drury (1935), Squibs (1935), Chick (1936), Jury's Evidence (1936), and When Knights Were Bold (1936). His final recorded screen credits were Song of the Forge and Cross My Heart, both released in 1937.
