About
Arthur Conrad was an American actor whose career spanned stage and screen work in the early twentieth century. Active on Broadway between 1906 and 1911, he built a reputation during that period as a performer in musical productions, with contemporaries recognizing him as an excellent eccentric comedian and a remarkable dancer.
His Broadway credits included three musicals: The Spring Chicken, The Wife Hunters, and Bright Eyes. These productions placed him within the comedy-driven musical theater of the era, a genre well suited to the skills for which he was noted.
Conrad's work extended beyond the stage. In 1925 he appeared in the film The Prince of Pep, playing a character named Eddie-the-Sniff, and the following year he took the role of Terry the Rat in The Night Patrol. Also in August 1925, he was part of a cast in a play performed in New York.
