Arnold Peter Kirsch-Korff was born on 2 August 1870 in Vienna, Austria, and went on to establish himself as an actor and director working across European film, American stage, and Hollywood. He died on 2 June 1944.

Before relocating to the United States, Korff appeared in a number of films produced in Germany and Austria. His first appearance on the American stage took place in Denver in 1892, marking the beginning of a lengthy career in the country. He subsequently built a presence in Hollywood as well as on the Broadway stage, where his credited appearances span two decades, from 1924 to 1944.

Among his Broadway productions were several dramas, including Emperor Henry IV, The Walking Gentleman, The Family, Delicate Story, and In Time to Come. His stage work demonstrated a sustained engagement with dramatic material throughout his later career.
