Arija Allison Bareikis is an American actress born on July 21, 1966, in Bloomington, Illinois. Her first name and surname are of Lithuanian origin. She is one of two daughters of Dr. and Mrs. Robert Paul Bareikis. Bareikis earned a degree from Stanford University in 1987.
Her career has spanned stage, film, and television. On Broadway, she appeared in The Last Night of Ballyhoo in 1997. In film, she took on the role of Kate opposite Rob Schneider in the 1999 comedy Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo and later appeared in The Purge. On television, she is perhaps most recognized for portraying LAPD officer Chickie Brown in the crime drama Southland, a role she held across the series' first three seasons. Her most recent screen credit, as of May 2018, was a 2016 appearance in the television series Power, in which she played a character named MJ.
