Antwayn Hopper

Antwayn Hopper is a stage and film actor whose Broadway career spans from 2009 to 2022. He is recognized for originating the role of Thought #6 in A Strange Loop and for his portrayal of Rafael Wexford in the ABC television series Will Trent.

Hopper's family relocated to Topeka, Kansas in 1991 following his father's military stationing at Fort Riley. He attended Bishop Elementary School and became involved in performing arts during middle school, a commitment he maintained throughout high school. His early training included work with the Helen Hocker Theater at the Topeka Civic Theatre, participation in extracurricular theater groups, and study at the Accent Academy of Performing Arts. After graduating high school in 2003, he enrolled in the School of Drama at Carnegie Mellon University, completing his degree in 2007 before moving to New York City to pursue a professional acting career.

Hopper made his Broadway debut as a swing in the 2009 revival of Hair. In 2012, he took on the role of Kilroy in a production of Camino Real at the Goodman Theatre. His second Broadway credit came with the 2022 original Broadway cast of A Strange Loop, in which he played Thought #6. He had been part of the show's development for six years prior to its Broadway run.

Beyond Broadway, Hopper appeared in the film A Thousand and One and participated in the ensemble of an industry reading of David James Parr's SLAP&TICKLE on November 12. In 2024, he was cast as Macavity in the off-Broadway production Cats: The Jellicle Ball. His television work includes the role of Rafael Wexford in Will Trent, which began in 2025. Hopper is gay.
