Antoinette Cellier, born Florence Antoinette Glossop Cellier on 23 June 1913 in Broadstairs, Kent, England, was an English actress who worked in both theatre and film. She died on 18 January 1981 in Chelsea, London, at the age of 67.
Cellier came from a family with deep roots in the performing arts. Her father, Frank Cellier, was a film and theatre actor. Her mother was Florence Glossop-Harris. Among her grandparents were Augustus Harris, the actor-manager, and François Cellier, who served as musical director of the Savoy Theatre. Her half-brother Peter Cellier also pursued a career in film, television, and theatre.
She received her formal training at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. Her stage debut took place in London's West End in Firebird. Subsequent stage work included appearances in the Day After Tomorrow at the Fortune Theatre, Quiet Weekend at the Playhouse Theatre, This Money Business at the Ambassadors Theatre, Coincidence at St Martin's Theatre, and Sixteen at the Criterion Theatre. In 1934, Cellier appeared on Broadway in the play Birthday.
Her screen career began with Music Hath Charms in 1935, and she went on to appear in fifteen feature films during the 1930s and 1940s. Her film credits include Late Extra, Royal Cavalcade, The Tenth Man, Ourselves Alone, Death Croons the Blues, The Great Barrier, The Gables Mystery, Lucky to Me, I Killed the Count, At the Villa Rose, Dear Octopus, Headline, Bees in Paradise, and The End of the River.
In 1940, Cellier married soldier and actor Sir Bruce Lovat Seton, 11th Baronet of Abercorn, becoming his second wife. The couple had a daughter, Lydia Antoinette Gordon Seton, born on 14 November 1941. Following Sir Bruce's death in 1969, his Baronial title passed to his cousin Christopher Bruce Seton. Through her marriage, Cellier held the title Lady Seton.
