Anthony Natale

Anthony Natale, born June 13, 1967, in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada, is a deaf Canadian-American actor whose work spans film, television, and Broadway. He grew up with an older brother and a younger sister and received his early education at Ernest C. Drury School for the Deaf before transferring to a mainstreaming program for gifted students, from which he graduated as valedictorian. He subsequently earned a Bachelor of Arts in Film Production with a minor in Theater Arts from California State University, Northridge.

Natale built a substantial screen career across both film and television. His film credits include Jerry Maguire (1995), Mr. Holland's Opus, and Universal Signs (2008). In Mr. Holland's Opus, he portrayed Coltrane "Cole" Holland, the 90% deaf son of Glenn and Iris Holland, playing the character at age 28. On television, he appeared in a 1997 episode of Ellen titled "Ellen's Deaf Comedy Jam" and had a role in Curb Your Enthusiasm. He portrayed Cameron Bledsoe on the series Switched at Birth and played Captain Thom in multiple episodes of Nancy Drew.

In 2022, Natale made his Broadway appearance in To Kill a Mockingbird. Outside of performing, he teaches American Sign Language and spends time restoring houses.
