Anne Marie Bobby

Anne Marie Bobby is an American actress, voice artist, playwright, and author born on December 12, 1967, in Paterson, New Jersey. She studied Anthropology and Classics at NYU before building a career that spans stage, screen, and voice performance.

Bobby's Broadway career ran from 1984 to 1993 and included several notable productions. She starred in White Liars and also appeared in The Human Comedy, the musical Smiles, and the play Precious.

Beyond Broadway, Bobby is widely recognized for her role as Lori Winston in Clive Barker's Nightbreed and for voicing Brigid Tenenbaum in the BioShock video game series. She also portrayed a police officer in the television series Cop Rock.

Her television work drew significant critical attention, including a Washington Post review that praised her portrayal of Tallasse in the 1997 production What the Deaf Man Heard. The Los Angeles Times described that same performance as a sensitive and insightful portrayal. In 2016, the New York Times drew a comparison between her performance in Why Can't a Man Be More Like a Woman? and a Broadway-caliber performance. In the musical Groundhog, Bobby received praise specifically for her work in duets and solos.
