Anna Baryshnikov

Anna Katerina Baryshnikova, known professionally as Anna Baryshnikov, is an American actress born on May 22, 1992. She is the daughter of Latvian-American ballet dancer and actor Mikhail Baryshnikov and former ballet dancer Lisa Rinehart. Baryshnikov grew up in Palisades, New York, and attended the Ethical Culture Fieldston School in New York City. Her elder half-sister, Shura Baryshnikov, is a dancer and the daughter of Mikhail Baryshnikov and actress Jessica Lange. Although Baryshnikov took beginner's ballet classes as a child, she found herself too hyperactive and talkative to remain focused at the barre and determined that ballet was not suited to her.

Baryshnikov began performing at age six, portraying Peaseblossom, a handmaiden to fairy queen Titania, in a children's theater production of A Midsummer Night's Dream. She graduated from Northwestern University in 2014 and subsequently began her professional acting career, appearing on television series including Doll & Em on HBO.

Her screen debut came with the 2016 film Wiener-Dog, followed that same year by a supporting role in the drama Manchester by the Sea alongside Casey Affleck and Michelle Williams. In the film, she played Sandy, the girlfriend of Patrick Chandler, a character portrayed by Lucas Hedges. To prepare for the role, Baryshnikov worked with a dialect coach and traveled to Boston-area malls to study the speech patterns of local teenage girls.

In February 2017, Baryshnikov took on the lead role of Maya, a graduate student, in the CBS sitcom Superior Donuts, which is based on the play of the same name by Tracy Letts. While CBS renewed the series for a second season, her character did not appear in it. Also in 2017, Baryshnikov made her Broadway debut in the production of Time and the Conways. The following year, she appeared in the film The Kindergarten Teacher.

On September 26, 2018, Baryshnikov was cast as Lavinia Norcross Dickinson in the Apple TV+ comedy drama series Dickinson, opposite Hailee Steinfeld. She held the role across the series run from 2019 to 2021. Her additional film credits include Love Lies Bleeding, released in 2024.
