Amanda Jane Cooper

Amanda Jane Cooper is an American actress and singer born on June 15, 1988, whose Broadway career spanned from 2003 to 2019. Her credits include Wicked and Kristin Chenoweth: For the Girls.

Cooper was raised in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, and completed her secondary education at Great Valley High School in Malvern, Pennsylvania. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, where she took on the role of Brooke in Smart People during her time as a student. Her New York stage debut came through BUNKED! A New Musical.

Among her most prominent stage work is the role of Glinda in Wicked. While performing the character at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Cooper appeared before First Lady Michelle Obama. In addition to her stage work, she has a television credit as the guest character Susan Channing on Jessie.

Cooper has spoken publicly about her personal experience with an eating disorder. She met her husband, Andrew Bell, at church, and the two had originally scheduled their wedding for April 29, 2020. Following COVID-19 lockdowns, they married in a courthouse ceremony on March 18, 2020, and held a Zoom ceremony for friends and family on April 4, 2020. Cooper and Bell later renewed their vows on September 19, 2021. On November 2, 2023, Cooper announced publicly that she and Bell were expecting their first child.
