Alphonse Ethier was an American stage and film performer born on December 10, 1874, in Virginia City, Nevada, who died on January 4, 1943. His first name was occasionally rendered as Alphonz in various records and publications.

Ethier established himself as a stage actor before transitioning to film work, appearing on Broadway across a span that ran from 1900 to 1926. His Broadway credits included The Jest, Dolly Jordan, Broken Wings, Keep It to Yourself, and April, among other productions during that period.

His screen career began with the Thanhouser Company, and his film debut came with Thelma in 1910. Over the following three decades, Ethier appeared in more than 70 films, with his screen work continuing through 1939.

Ethier was married to Catherine Falloway, who had a career as a prima donna in light opera and musical comedy.
