Born February 15, 1918, in New York City to Harry and Rose Arbus, Allan Franklin Arbus married Diane Nemerov in 1941; they had two daughters, Amy and Doon. During World War II he served as a photographer in the Army Signal Corps in Burma, afterward supplying photos to magazines including Glamour and Vogue. He married Mariclare Costello in 1976, and their daughter is Arin Arbus. Film credits include "Coffy," "Crossroads," "The Electric Horseman," "Volunteers," "Putney Swope," and "Josh and S.A.M." Television credits include "M*A*S*H*," "Taxi," "Starsky & Hutch," "Matlock," and "Curb Your Enthusiasm."
