About

Alistair Daniel Brammer, born on 12 November 1988, is an English actor originally from Exmouth, Devon. The youngest of seven children, Brammer made his Broadway debut in 2017 in Miss Saigon, playing the role of Chris.

Brammer's early engagement with musical theatre came in 2005, when he was selected as one of 35 students from across England to take part in the 20th anniversary celebration of Les Misérables at the Queen's Theatre in the West End. While studying at Exeter College in 2008, he competed in the television program Any Dream Will Do, advancing to the final 20 contestants. Though he was not ultimately selected for the show, judge Bill Kenwright offered him a place in the 2008–2009 UK tour of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, in which he played Zebulon and understudied both Benjamin and Joseph.

His West End debut came in 2009, when he was cast as Marius in Les Misérables, a role he held for 18 months. The following year, on 3 October 2010, he played Jean Prouvaire in the Les Misérables 25th Anniversary Concert at The O2. He subsequently reprised that role in the 2012 film adaptation of Les Misérables. Between those engagements, Brammer appeared as Walter and understudied Claude in a European tour of Hair. In 2012, he played Billy in the revival of Taboo at the Brixton Clubhouse, and through 15 March 2014 performed as Billy while understudying Albert in the West End production of War Horse.

On 21 November 2013, it was announced that Brammer would star as Chris in the West End revival of Miss Saigon, with previews beginning on 3 May 2014. He carried that role into the Broadway revival, which began previews on 1 March 2017 and ran through its closing on 14 January 2018. The production also marked his participation in the Miss Saigon 25th anniversary performance.

Outside of theatre, Brammer made his first appearance as Jack Diamond, a receptionist, in the television series Casualty on 5 December 2015. In December 2016, he played Oliver in the finale special of Vicious, portraying a new upstairs neighbor to the main characters Freddie and Stuart.

Returning to the West End, Brammer began playing Fiyero in Wicked on 22 July 2019, remaining in the role through 30 January 2022. He is scheduled to take on the role of Christian in the West End production of Moulin Rouge! beginning 13 October 2025.
