About
Alfred Frith (1885–1941) was a British-born stage comedian whose career spanned multiple continents. Before establishing himself as a theatrical performer, Frith served in the Boer War, an experience that preceded his extensive work on stages across India and Africa.
Frith later settled in Australia, where he became a frequent presence in productions mounted by J. C. Williamson Ltd, one of the country's most prominent theatrical organizations. His work in the region demonstrated a sustained commitment to the stage across a significant portion of his career.
In addition to his theatrical pursuits, Frith appeared on screen in the 1936 film White Death, in which he acted opposite Zane Grey. His career also brought him to Broadway, where he appeared in 1927 in two productions: the play The King Can Do No Wrong and the play Dracula.
