Adam Kantor

Adam Kantor, born May 27, 1986, is an American actor and singer from Great Neck, Long Island, New York. He describes himself as a descendant of Jewish immigrants from Eastern Europe. Kantor attended John L. Miller Great Neck North High School before enrolling at Northwestern University, where he majored in theatre and graduated in 2008.

Shortly after completing his degree, Kantor secured a starring role on Broadway, playing Mark Cohen in the closing cast of the musical Rent. That final run of performances was preserved in the film Rent: Filmed Live on Broadway. His Broadway career, which spans from 1996 to 2017, also includes Next to Normal, in which he served as understudy and replacement for the role of Henry, the 2015 revival of Fiddler on the Roof, where he portrayed Motel Kamzoil at the Broadway Theatre, and The Band's Visit, for which he joined the production as Telephone Guy when it transferred to Broadway in 2017.

Beyond Broadway, Kantor appeared Off-Broadway in Avenue Q, Falling for Eve, and a 2013 revival of The Last Five Years.

In 2014, Kantor became a coach for the Jimmy Awards, a role he has continued every year since, with the exception of 2016. In 2018, while still performing in The Band's Visit, he and Brian Bordainick created Story Course, an interactive musical theater dinner held in New York City that centers on the stories of immigrants.
