About
Adam Alexi-Malle is an actor, singer, dancer, and musician born in Siena, Italy. His father is Sardinian and his mother is Palestinian-Spanish. The family emigrated first to London, England, and later to the United States.
Alexi-Malle began performing as a musician at age nine, pursuing training as a concert pianist and violinist. His musical education included study with Dorothy DeLay and Raphael Bronstein, as well as training at the Conservatoire de Paris, the Moscow Conservatory, the Juilliard School, and the American Ballet Theatre. In the early 1990s, he completed a course at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London, which marked the beginning of his acting career.
His Broadway work spans from 1997 to 2006 and includes two productions: Titanic and The Threepenny Opera. Titanic was a Tony Award-winning production recognized for Best Musical, Best Original Score, Best Book of a Musical, Best Orchestrations, and Best Scenic Design, and Alexi-Malle appears on its original cast album, released on Varèse Sarabande. Off Broadway, he starred opposite Sam Rockwell and Cara Seymour in the New Group's premiere of Mike Leigh's Goose-Pimples, earning nominations for Outstanding Featured Actor in a Play from both the Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Award in 1998.
His film credits include Bowfinger, Celebrity, The Man Who Wasn't There, Hidalgo, and Failure to Launch. On television, he has appeared in guest roles on The Sopranos, The West Wing, Alias, and 24. He has also worked as a voice artist for Late Night with David Letterman and Family Guy, and provided voice work for video games including The Bourne Conspiracy, Diablo 3, and Assassin's Creed: Revelations. Alexi-Malle serves as a staff audiobook narrator for Penguin Random House Audio, having voiced titles including The Second Empress, Letters from Skye, The Anatomy Lesson, I Will Never See the World Again, White Bird: A Wonder Story, and POV: Point of View.
In addition to his performance work, Alexi-Malle has recorded with Nellie McKay on Normal as Blueberry Pie: A Tribute to Doris Day, released on Verve and credited under the name Paolo Perre, and contributed to Love Song by The Kinsey Scale on Autonomous Records UK, also credited as Paolo Perre. Under his birth name Juan-Paolo Perre, he received the Legacy Poetry Prize in 2014 in the book category for the poetry collection A Confederacy of Joy, published by the Siena Press. He is the founding owner and CEO of the multimedia production company JP²A²M:worldwide Entertainment Group, which includes the subsidiary entities Siena Films, virtuosoTV, and the theatre company Blistering Muses. Alexi-Malle is fluent in Italian, French, Spanish, Russian, and Arabic.
